in 96-98 we turned a chevy s-10 into an electric truck at school...it cost $10,000 to build, used 8 or so batteries (cant remember what type), could smoke the tires and easily top out the transmission (140mph+), but it was governed to 80mph, it could go 200-300 miles on a full charge, took about 2 hrs to charge on 220v, 5-6hrs on 110v.. man i wish i payed more attn... p.m. if you want to know the school, maybe they still got some blue prints...
