One last thing: I've studied theatre for a majority of my life, and I have a deep respect for all three of the playwrights you mentioned. Pinter, however, is none of them, nor was he meant to be them. He didn't even try to be them. As long as you concentrate on how Pinter is not like Ibsen, you will never fully realise the various scope and uses possible with theatre. The video states that Haiti imports almost everything. That is true. But the Haitian people are not lazy. Haiti has the potential to grow its own food (e.g., rice, mangos, coffee, sugar). The problem is that multi-nationals lowered their tariffs and flooded the Haitian market with their goods. In effect, the Haitians growers could not compete and drove them out of business. What needs to be done is a regulation of those tariffs to allow Haiti to compete so that jobs can be created.

1000 trucks are needed to clean up Haiti. Out of billions of dollars that were received thanks to the world's generosity only 100 million was actually disbursed. If more money would be disbursed for specific projects 1000 trucks can be purchased for the cleanup. There are 8 million unemployed people in Haiti. They can be given work to cleanup the rubbles. Six months after the earthquake it is incredible to see millions of unemployed with crossed harms. We need the funds to be disbursed!

Easterly's book "The White Man's Burden" is exceptionally good. He's not a very good public speaker and his book is MUCH better at communicating his arguments. It is deeply data rich and evidence based argumentation. And once you've read that book, I highly suggest you move on to Dambisa Moyo's book "Dead Aid". Dambisa is a former World Bank analyst and Goldman Sachs economist who, as an African, argues that foreign aid has bred corruption and poverty. Also well supported, data rich arguments.
